Awaken the Inner Flame: Kundalini & Kirtan Journey
Step into a 2-hour Awaken the Inner Flame: Kundalini & Kirtan Journey of transformation, devotion, and inner awakening, where practice and prayer are not separate, but part of the same unfolding.
We begin with a deeply intentional Kundalini Yoga sequence designed to rebalance and harmonize the seven royal chakras:
• Initiate – cultivating awareness of each chakra through meditation,
• Purify – cleansing Ida and Pingala with dynamic Pranayama (Chandra & Surya, awakening lunar and solar energies),
• Chant – activating each center with seed mantras and Vedic sound to dissolve energetic blockages.
Through this integration of awareness, breath, and vibration, the subtle body is not only “repaired,” but awakened.
From here, the inner movement begins: Shakti, the creative force, rises upward and Shiva, the grounding consciousness, descends downward.
And where they meet, a space of presence, wholeness, and quiet connection to the Divine emerges.
But the journey does not stop there.
Kirtan Experience
After the practice a kirtan lead by OMBuds*, directed by Justine Hoang, will hold and expand everything that has been awakened, anchoring it into connection, presence, and love. Kirtan with harmonium and guitar is not something separate from this process. It is its natural continuation.
After the body has been softened and the breath has returned to its organic rhythm, the same energy we have awakened through movement, breath, and mantra begins to express itself through sound.
The pathways have been cleared.
The inner space has been opened.
The vibration has already been set.
Now, the voice simply carries it forward. In this way, Kirtan becomes the flowering of the Kundalini practice:
– what was activated in the chakras becomes devotion in the heart,
– what was purified in the nadis becomes flow in expression,
– what was repeated as mantra internally becomes shared vibration externally.
Awareness deepens into feeling.
Energy becomes offering.
The mind no longer needs to direct, it follows the rhythm, rests in repetition, and allows itself to be carried.
The heart, already uncovered through practice, now speaks.
Not perfectly, not performatively but truthfully.
And in that shared sound, something shifts: the sense of “I” softens, voices merge, and separation begins to dissolve.
This is the quiet alchemy, where Kundalini becomes Bhakti, where effort becomes surrender, where practice becomes prayer.

*OMBuds bio
A close-knit group of friends who aim to spread love and consciousness through Bhakti yoga. They are all at once yogis, musicians, artists, visionaries, and seekers, who want to share the profound benefits of Bhakti Yoga, through the practice of kirtan. They play mainly their own original bhajans and musical arrangements of mantras, but we also like to do our personal renditions of traditional chants and bhajans from contemporary kirtan wallahs. By exploring a vast variety of music, they hope to strike a chord with each and every person in attendance, and make everyone feel completely safe to participate in whatever capacity they feel comfortable.
