My short bio.
Thank you for visiting my site. My name is Sasy Cacace and I try to share my experience with you to better your life through the healing power of Meditation, Pranayama (breathwork) and Yoga.
I could be described as a gentle spirit but despite this, I decided to pursue a career in law enforcement and I was a successful Police Detective for 20 years. My primary focuses were in crime session and narcotics. It was a challenging career for a soft-hearted man like me and I left in 2016.
In 2005, a major motorbike accident put me in a health crisis position for almost a full year. I did not know it at the time, but this accident would spark an awakening within myself. The same year I started my spiritual quest with Meditation and 5 years of Buddhist philosophy at Lama Tzong Khapa Institute in Pomaia, Italy.
The same year, 2005, I dedicated myself to clean vegan eating and remain a vegan to this day.
The combination of Meditation, Yoga, nowadays mainly the Yin approach, and veganism created a unique synergy within me. I worked hard on my Yoga studies in the years to come. Over time, I became an experienced practitioner and began to teach others.
I received many empowerments from different Gurus all around the world, and in 2012 I was deeply involved in Yoga Practice and Yoga Teacher Training.
Today I’m a 500 hours Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (500 E-RYT) and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). I have been lived in Fuerteventura (Spain), India, Nepal and spent all of 2018 in Los Angeles (USA).
I have been teaching yoga all over the world and been a traveler since 2015. I have taught at many studios in Northern Italy; Fuerteventura (Spain); Bylakuppe/Mysore, (India); Pokhara (Nepal); and Los Angeles (USA).
I also have some experience in Karma Yoga including Anand Prakash Ashram in Risikesh (India) where I led Vipassana Meditation and Karuna Home for Disabled and Orphaned Children in Bylakuppe/Mysore (India) where I taught Yoga in a Yoga Studio inside the Tibetan Camp 1. On March 2020 I completed my three months of Karma Yoga at Sivananda Ashram Bahamas.
Knowing very well the stress and all the consequences that First Responder service can bring into the personal life of every single officer or member, I was inspired to offer specific training for First Responders. In 2020 I co-founded F.R.Y. First Responders’ Yoga, a toolbox for First Responders mind-body wellness that compiles Mindfulness, Relaxation, Positive Affirmation, Meditation, Trauma-Informed Movement, Breathwork and functional Yoga movements in both Yang and Yin approach. And with F.R.Y. The APP that toolbox is available anytime, anywhere when needed at a push of a button.
Drawing on my past in law enforcement and the knowledge I developed since 2005 in the fields of meditation, stress reduction, Yoga and trauma-informed movement, I realized F.R.Y. is of value to paramedics, firefighters, police officers who put their lives at risk everyday on duty, and dispatchers who support them.
At the moment I am based in Ottawa (Canada).
From my personal life experiences serving as Italian Police Detective for over two decades transforming my daily living as a Tibetan Buddhist Vegan Yogi, this space will allow me to share with you a glimpse to my personal spiritual journey, some easy-to-understand neuroscience about meditation and deep breathing, life-altering tools that transformed my daily living and maybe can do the same with yours.
